Sydney Olympic Park SYDNEY OLYMPIC PARK
Sydney Olympic Park covers 640 hectares, and is situated in Homebush Bay.
Built for the 2000 Olympics, it is now used for over 1800 sporting and cultural events such as the Royal Easter Show or the music festival known as Big Day Out.
Before its development, it was used as an industrial wasteland by the military and industrial organisations. It also housed organizations that made bricks, an abattoir and an armaments depot and a rubbish dump for 8 Sydney sites.
The Acer Arena was once known as the Sydney Superdome and the Olympic Stadium is now called ANZ stadium.
Often rugby league football games are played out at ANZ Stadium.
