Sydney has been inundated with numerous religious sisters in habits walking our streets even provoking a new game called 'nunspotting'. But on a more serious note, they seem to be changing local Australians' lives.

When some of the  Sisters of Life went bush-walking on the weekend to Northhead, they ran out of time to get back to catch the Manly ferry.

Lo and behold, a local resident wanted to help them out and had her husband and son hop out of the car while she gave the Sisters a lift back to the wharf to make the ferry.

When the Sisters got out of the car, the nuns asked if she had anything they could pray for, for her.

"Any prayer intentions?" they asked.

"I'm not a person of faith, maybe that's what you could pray for?"

"That I may receive faith," she said to them.

"So in encounters with local Australians who have begun conversations with us, they're seeking something," Sr Mary Elizabeth, 36, said who is here for WYD along with  A Sister of Life, she entered the order at the age of 21.

Now she is the official blogger during the week of WYD, to both evangelise as well as report on the daily happenings for those who haven't been able to make it to WYD.

Her first blog post was 8 July but she says that since she has been writing for the blog, she has been living WYD at a deeper level.

"I'm thinking about what I want to tell other people ... I'm seeking the deeper meaning in what's happening," she says.

"We want to use it as a means to revealing how God is working in the encounter that we have and the events ... And that's made me alert and alive to that - His Presence," she says.

Close to 50 Sisters of Life, along with the Knights of Colombus and the JPII Institutes Internationally are running the Love and Life site at the University of Notre Dame bringing to WYD a dedicated site where "life can breed."
