 Sr. Hosanna Christi
Sister Hosanna Christi (Sisters of Life), 24,entered the novitiate this past June, along with ten other young women from US, and one from NZ. Sr was a registered nurse living in Brooklyn, NY, before entering the Sisters of Life. To be a faithful wife and mother of five children – this has been the desire of my heart since I was a child; my parents’ marriage and our family served as a model for me – raising our family Catholic and fostering a deep love for the Church. When I went away to college, however, I was swept away with secularism and the “party scene.” I stopped attending Mass. It wasn’t until a Youth 2000 retreat, which my parents urged me to go on, that I “encountered” God’s mercy and deep love for me. I realized that no sin of mine can separate me from His infinite love. This also led me to discern the religious life. “No greater love than this – to lay down one’s life for a friend.” Not only am I laying down my life for others, I freely place it in the hands of my divine Spouse, Christ Jesus, knowing that He alone can fulfill all the desires of my heart. It is with great joy and peace to give my life completely to Him – totally given, totally spent. Desiring to be a bride of Christ, I will be a spiritual mother to all (making 5 a minuscule number), holding and praying for those entrusted to my care. |
