To register for WYD2008, you will need a Group Name and Number. With this group you will receive access to all WYD events as well as your meals, transport and accommodation (if required). You will also attend WYD Catechesis sessions with your Group.

Looking for a Pilgrim Group…

If you are looking for a group to join, we invite you to be a part of Towards 2008 – Australia’s national student and young adult group. Our Towards 2008 group will probably have several hundred members for the week of World Youth Day as well as at least two chaplains including Fr Mark De Battista (Towards 2008 National Chaplain) and Fr Gregory Jordan SJ (ACSA National Chaplain).

If you like our yBENEDICT site you will probably like the Towards 2008 group because they are being run by the same associations and the same people. For a little bit more background, ACSA/ACYA stands for Australian Catholic Students Association and Australian Catholic Young Adults Network. Our two associations are working together to run Towards2008 and under this banner we are hosting the yBENEDICT website and campaign as well as the Towards2008 PILGRIM GROUP!

Towards 2008 PILGRIM GROUP

Group Name: Towards2008 – ACSA/ACYA

Now that you have these group details, all you need to do to register with the Towards2008 Pilgrim Group is choose whether you wish to register with Package A or Package B. The difference is Package A includes accommodation for the whole week, while Package B doesn’t.

Package A (with accommodation)

For VISITORS TO SYDNEY who wish to join the Towards 2008 group for WYD Week, we suggest you:

• Sign up for Package A - which includes accommodation, meals, transport and access to all WYD events. (As a non-Sydney resident you will probably need accommodation for the week. We will let you know as soon as we can tell you where our group will be accommodated for the week and thus where you will be sleeping!)

• As a member of the Towards2008 Pilgrim Group (Package A) you will probably be attending catechesis somewhere near to the Sydney CBD. We’ll give you more details as soon as we know but be assured we will be somewhere near the action!

• If you are a visitor to Sydney but do not require accommodation, you recommend you register with Package B below.

Package B (NO accommodation)

For SYDNEY RESIDENTS, who want to join the Towards 2008 group for WYD Week, we suggest you:

• Sign up for Package B - as this includes meals, transport and access to all WYD events though no accommodation (As a Sydney resident you will naturally be free to sleep in your own bed!)

• As a member of the Towards2008 Pilgrim Group (Package B) you will probably be attending catechesis somewhere near to the Sydney CBD. We’ll give you more details as soon as we know but be assured we will be somewhere near the action!

• If you are a resident in Sydney but would like accommodation during WYD (to get out of the house or to live it up full time with the pilgrims of the world) we recommend you register with Package A above.

PACKAGE C (weekend only, no accommodation)

Towards 2008 will not be offering a Package C Option (weekend only, no accommodation) but if you wish to choose this WYD Registration option, we recommend you consider one of our related groups - St Peter’s Surry Hills. This is the Church where our BXVI Pilgrim Centre is located and they will be offering a Package C option. Pilgrim Group Details for St Peter’s Surry Hills (Weekend Only) are:
