TOWARDS 2008: Towards2008 is Australia’s national student and young adult campaign for WYD2008 co-hosted by the Australian Catholic Students Association (ACSA) and the Australian Catholic Young Adults Network (ACYA).

Towards2008 was formed following Pope Benedict’s announcement that Sydney would host the XXIII World Youth Day and in the lead up to this global event has played an important role across Australia in hosting and supporting a number of projects including: the 2028 Congress (Canberra 2007), The New Springtime Journal (Online 2007-08), Joseph the Musical (Sydney 2007), Reasons for Hope (Sydney, Melbourne 2006-08), Theology on Tap (Sydney 2007-08) and Theology at the Pub (Melbourne 2008).

ACSA: The Australian Catholic Students Association was formed in 1948 and is a national Catholic organisation of tertiary students. ACSA is affiliated to Pax Romana and the International Movement of Catholic Students and is endorsed and supported by the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference.

ACYA: The Australian Catholic Young Adults Network was formed in 2006 and was specifically set up by ACSA to serve young adults between the ages of 18-35.  ACYA complements ACSA’s work by providing a community, network and place for those working as well as students, graduates, young professionals, single & married people
